It was in the year 2012 when I first came across with the then-1-year-old document, fittingly titled “The Periodic Table of Email Marketing”, written and designed by Ricky Warren. I learned much from it as I was relatively new to the email marketing landscape, having started digital marketing with SEO.
Fast forward to today, countless email marketing consultations, research and analysis later, it becomes almost macro to me that whenever I have clients and friends asking me for opinion on how to better optimize their email campaigns, I run through a list in my mind and start to mentally check them off the list. But it wasn’t until recently during one of my catch up sessions with a client-turned-friend who was asking me for a more detailed breakdown did I feel the need to pen it down for the ease of explanation.
What started out as wordy paragraphs soon turned into categorized lists of factors and elements, but even then, I felt it was messy and incomprehensible. So I decided to do it in the way I learned it, with the periodic table that inspired me to dive deeper into the realms of email marketing.
By no means is this the definitive bible to email marketing, but it is more of a personal record of my knowledge and experience that I represented in a visual form of a periodic table that I now sharing with you.
You may download it (for free~!) for your own personal use and all I ask for in turn is that if you share this document, do credit it back to this website, www.sociozilla.com, or to my linkedin profile, https://sg.linkedin.com/in/mrwinsonchan, and feel free to drop me a note in the comments section below if you have constructive feedback or just want to say “hi”.
